Assemble Entertainment and indie dev STHare inviting players to experienceBREAKOUT BABY, possibly gaming’s most unhinged nightmare. You are plunged into a first-person horror roguelike that transforms the classic arcade thrill of Pac-Man into a blood-pumping survival experience where you’re responsible for keeping one extremely unlucky baby alive. A demo has just launched on itch.io and Steam, for anyone ready to pop pellets in the dark with a weaponised infant…
The rules are very simple.
Collect every pellet, dodge the monsters and don't ask why the scary-looking baby has a gun.
Each level is crawling with grotesque creatures that stalk, hunt, ambush and generally ruin your day. You need to gobble down all the pellets and avoid becoming lunch. Grab all the gifts along the way, and Junior might just make it out alive.
How to get out of this alive:
Escort an innocent baby through the deadly first-person maze floors.
Collect every pellet to unlock the next floor while making enough noise to attract unholy creatures.
Shake to wake your baby to reveal nearby enemy locations. They’ll be fine.
Discover twisted gifts that can completely change your run.
This is the only time you should shake a baby, ok?
BREAKOUT BABY takes the instantly recognisable DNA of maze-chase classics and mutates it into something horrifying: a frantic first-person roguelike where doing a simple thing turns into jumpscare chaos.
Fans of arcade survival, high-pressure roguelikes, creature-driven horror and games that make players say "wait, what?" out loud should feel right at home in its weird little nightmare.
Breakout Baby is coming to Steam and itch.io 2026.
STH is the developer behind BREAKOUT BABY, a first-person horror roguelike that blends arcade maze-chase mechanics, dark comedy, and high-stakes survival into one deeply strange escape to the surface.
